Professional profile

Leadership is measured by what becomes possible for others.

My professional work brings together organisational leadership, global health, governance, movement building and human rights. I work at both the institutional and deeply practical levels, because strategy only matters when it changes what people can do.

Current leadership

Executive leadership rooted in community accountability.

$2.5–3.5mannual organisational budget

At GATE, I oversee organisational strategy, programmes, resource mobilisation, governance, operations and external representation. I have led institutional growth, strengthened management and accountability systems, and supported community-led work across a global membership and grantmaking network.

Career journey

A career built across movements and institutions.

2023 to present

Executive Director

GATE, Global Action for Trans Equality

I lead strategy, programmes, fundraising, operations, governance and external representation for a global civil society organisation advancing health, rights and equality.

2022

Interim Executive Director

GATE

I led the organisation through an executive transition while protecting staff continuity, donor confidence and strategic momentum.

2017 to 2022

Director of Programs

GATE

I expanded GATE's global health portfolio, deepened its engagement with multilateral institutions and connected community evidence with policy and funding decisions.

2011 to 2016

Co-founder and Executive Director

C-NET+, Belize

I helped build Belize's first national network of people living with HIV and secured formal community representation in national HIV decision-making.

Governance and multilateral work

Working where policy, evidence and power meet.

I have served in governance, advisory and technical roles across global health institutions. I bring institutional fluency, but I do not confuse fluency with acceptance. My task is to ask what a decision will mean in people's lives.

Global Fund

Focal Point for Equity, Human Rights and Gender on the Technical Review Panel, bringing rights, gender and community considerations into funding review.

PEPFAR

Member of the Scientific Advisory Board, contributing community-informed perspectives on HIV science, policy and health equity.

WHO

Co-chair and member of guideline development groups on trans health, key populations and HIV service delivery.

UNAIDS

Governance, advisory and civil society leadership across the Programme Coordinating Board, global targets and institutional reform processes.

Global Fund Board

Former Communities Delegation Board Member and Alternate Board Member, appointed as the first openly trans advocate to the Board.

WPATH

Recent organisational representative on the Board of Directors, contributing to international governance on transgender health.
